Preliminary Ecological Appraisal – PEA

Preliminary Ecological Appraisal - PEA

Greenlink Ecology Ltd conducts preliminary ecological appraisals (PEA) – previously known as scoping/extended phase 1 surveys in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London to establish baseline information about a site’s ecological characteristics, to allow an assessment of the likely impacts of development on the ecology of a site. The ecological appraisal also takes into account any evidence of, or potential for, protected or notable species of wildlife such as badger, bats, breeding birds, great crested newt and reptiles.

A ecological data report may also be obtained from the Kent, Surrey, Sussex or London ecology records centres, if considered necessary, to ensure compliance with the Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) Guidelines for Preliminary Ecological Appraisal.

Our ecology reports also make pragmatic recommendations for any further required survey work and propose cost-effective mitigation/enhancement measures in accordance with the British Standard (BS42020:2013) Code of Practice for Planning and Development and to comply with the legislation and planning policy.
