All wild birds native to the UK (including migratory species) are legally protected and cannot be killed, injured or taken except under licence.
Breeding birds are also legally protected, which makes it an offence to damage or destroy a nest whilst it is in use or being built, or to take or destroy the eggs. The breeding season is typically March-July/August and during this period, birds are particularly vulnerable to impacts.
GreenLink Ecology Ltd employs experienced ornithologists and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW), who can undertake a range of bird surveys and supervise sensitive site works to ensure that the risk of impacts to breeding birds is avoided via precautionary mitigation measures.
